The "Sermon on the Plain" begins here in Luke 6 with four contrasting pairs of blessings and woes. As we walk through Jesus' teaching in this passage, Pastor Shawn explains how these blessings and woes contrast the heart that is God-oriented against the heart that is self-oriented. In redeeming his people, God causes their hearts to be oriented toward himself, such that the true believer will think, act, speak, and suffer in godly ways.
