Doubt is a common yet unsettling experience in the Christian life. Many people wonder if their doubts mean that they are not really Christians at all. In today's passage from Luke 7 we see John the Baptist, a prophet of God who had already publicly proclaimed Jesus to be the Messiah, expressing his own doubts by sending messengers to inquire of Jesus whether he truly is the Christ. In exegeting this passage, Pastor Joshua explains why believers experience doubts, how doubt differs from unbelief, and how believers can resolve their doubts by turning (as John the Baptist did) to Jesus for comfort and assurance.
